Pat (Patrick) Brosseau is an American comic book letterer, known for his work on a number of titles for DC Comics, including Steel, Flash and Justice League.

Pat Brosseau was born in New York City on August 11th, 1964

When he was old enough, he attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, NJ. He went there for 2 years and received the Certificate of Completion.

From February 1986 Pat was a freelance comic book letterer, working at such companies as Marvel, Dark Horse and DC Comics. According to Mike’s amazing world of DC history, the first comic Pat lettered was Blue Devil#21 for DC comics. At Marvel he lettered Wolverine, X-Men and Doctor Strange Fate. At Dark Horse he lettered Alien Vs Predator, Dark Horse Presents and The Mask. And of course amongst the projects Pat worked on at DC Comics was Steel.

In fact, he was the longest contributor to the series, leaving the book at issue #50, only two issues before the title was cancelled. I couldn’t find out why he left the book but I saw, again, on Mike’s amazing world of DC history that his work load had increased at this time so I’m guessing that he had no choice but to leave.

This wasn’t the last time Pat would letter a comic that Steel was in though. He also lettered eight issues of the year long weekly series 52, three of which featured John Henry Irons / Steel. Those issues being #3, 26 and 33. He also lettered Infinity Inc mini-series from issues #1 to 4 and 6 to 9 in which John Henry played a supporting role to his niece Natasha, the Steel one-shot in March 2011 and the new 52 Action Comics issues #1-10 in which John Henry Irons / Steel appeared in issues #2, 4, 7 and 8.

From February 2004 to September 2012 Brosseau was the Senior Letterer at DC Comics. His duties included designing and digitally lettering 13 pages a day, designing various cover copy and designing Titles as well as credits for various DC books.

Currently Brosseau is again a Freelance Letterer as well as a logo and font designer. His current clients are Boom Studios, Image Comics, Riot Games and Legendary Entertainment. Pat currently resides in Pasadena, California.
